BWP Bats
BWP are one of the few baseball manufacturers that use northern red oak for making bats, which are kiln dried and double dipped for maximum hardness. Northern red oak is a fast growing species, and
has a strong, dense and very fine grain that is much sought after for lathe turning work, furniture and flooring, as premium grade red oak timber is the most dimensionally stable of all domestic woods.
BWP also make a range of pro ash and hard maple bats, and the maple timber is vacuum dried to ensure it is lightweight, hard and durable. All of the wood for BWP bats are sourced from the hardwood capital of the world, Pennsylvania, which is where the BWP factory and wood processing centres are based.
BWP are a relatively new baseball manufacturer, but they have a good reputation for making durable and high performing bats, and they can list among their clients a number of players in the major league. Handmade BWP wood bats start from around $45.
