Adult Baseball Bats
There are two main types of adult baseball bats to choose from, traditional wood bats and Aluminum or metal composites.
* Aluminum Bats - in the last 30 years Aluminum have become the most popular material for baseball bats, as it offers a lightweight, durable and incredibly strong bat that can produce impressive speed and striking force, resulting in consistently powerful hits. Although Aluminum bats do not split or break like wood bats, they can dent or crack over time, and the metal can sometimes degrade, which means the bat loses some of its superior striking power.
* Wood Bats - all professional league players must use wood bats, and these are typically made of white ash because of its lightweight, strong and durable qualities. Maple bats are also becoming more popular with professionals, but these can be much too expensive for amateur players. New advances in manufacturing techniques have seen bamboo baseball bats entering the market, and this looks likely to be a material that will gain in popularity in the coming years, as it offers a cheap, lightweight and extremely strong and long lasting bat.
Adult bats can start from as low as $30 for a basic Aluminum bat, with basic white ash bats starting from around $40.
